The crew are all squirreled away for the night in their respective bunks, resting up after a very stressful mission. A crew of two is running pretty light and tight considering the work these guys did but, hey, who's York to judge after running solo for this long? It'd been- Well he's not all that sure what had been going through his head when he'd stumbled on one very familiar set of armor with two dudes panicking about the fact that Ohio was crumpled up suffering something that seemed pretty damn familiar and all the more worrying for it.
Figuring out what he was gonna do with himself took a backseat for 'what am I going to do to keep these guys alive?' Because dealing with other people's issues is always infinitely easier than handling his own bullshit.
Once he'd found out where they were headed, what the job was? He made sure it got done and they got back safe. With the boys (kids, really) resting up and Ohio out cold- York settles for kicking back and keeping watch. Nevermind that he really shouldn't be here, it's a risk, it's a huge fucking risk but...
Ohio's the first slice of something familiar he's had since he lost Delta. He can't...he can't cope on his own anymore. Maybe having some people will help.
Armored even though they're safe (habit), kicked back on one of the chairs (style) he's flicking his way through an old encryption puzzle (boredom). Shapes form and change under his fingers as he flicks the light this way and that, humming under his breath like he always did on the comms while working through one of these locks. Enough shades of the familiar that maybe he won't get shot when Ohio wakes up. Or. Wanders right out, probably looking for coffee. "Hey Ohio."
Like it's the mess back on the MOI. Like he hasn't been marked KIA for years and AWOL longer than that.
